Foundational Ideas: Flawed Saints
I wrote about being flawed saints just a few days ago, and I
do not need to repeat my words. However, because the idea is so central to my
thinking, I wanted to mention it again.
If you are a Christian, you are washed clean in the sight of
God. You are called a saint and yet, this side of heaven, you will not reach
perfection. Simul iustus et peccator. You are flawed saint.
Larry Crabb also helped me to see that I live in the middle
of this apparent contrast. However, I really appreciated Richard Pratt’s book Designedfor Dignity.
